Work Authorization

FlexDuty is available to experts in many countries. This page explains eligibility and requirements.

General Requirements

To work on FlexDuty, you must:
Be at least 18 years old
Have legal right to work as a contractor in your country
Not be located in a sanctioned country
Complete required tax documentation

Supported Regions

FlexDuty supports experts in most countries where Stripe operates:
  • United States
  • United Kingdom
  • European Union countries
  • Canada
  • Australia
  • India
  • And many more

Restricted Countries

FlexDuty services are NOT available in:
  • Afghanistan
  • Belarus
  • Cuba
  • Iran
  • North Korea
  • Russia
  • Syria
  • And other sanctioned territories
If you’re located in or connecting from a restricted country, you cannot use FlexDuty.

Tax Documentation

US-Based Experts

Complete a W-9 form during onboarding to provide your SSN/TIN.

Non-US Experts

Complete a W-8BEN form to certify your foreign status.

Visa Considerations

For US-Based Non-Citizens

O-1⚠️ Depends on visa terms
Visa matters are complex. Always consult an immigration attorney before freelancing on any visa.

For Other Countries

Ensure you:
  • Have the right to work as self-employed/freelancer
  • Comply with local labor laws
  • Register as required in your jurisdiction

Verification

FlexDuty may verify:
  • Identity through Stripe
  • Location (IP-based screening)
  • Right to work documentation

Changing Location

If you relocate:
  1. Update your profile address
  2. Update Stripe account
  3. Submit new tax documentation if country changes
  4. Notify support if moving to/from restricted areas
