Time Tracking Policy

This policy outlines expectations and rules for time tracking on FlexDuty.

Purpose

Accurate time tracking ensures:
  • Fair compensation for experts
  • Transparent billing for clients
  • Trust between all parties
  • Clear records for disputes

Expert Responsibilities

Accurate Tracking

Experts must:
Track time only for active project work
Pause timer during breaks
Stop timer when not working on the project
Not track time for personal learning unrelated to the project

Prohibited Activities

Do NOT track time for:
  • Breaks, meals, personal activities
  • Working on other projects
  • General skill development
  • Administrative tasks unrelated to project
  • Waiting for responses (unless on-call)

Client Rights

Clients can:
  • View time logs in real-time
  • Request clarification on entries
  • Dispute suspicious entries
  • Request detailed breakdowns

Platform Oversight

FlexDuty may:
  • Review time logs for anomalies
  • Adjust entries in cases of clear error
  • Investigate disputes
  • Take action against fraudulent tracking

Time Adjustments

When Adjustments Occur

  • Timer left running overnight
  • Technical issues prevented tracking
  • Agreed-upon corrections
  • Dispute resolutions

Process

  1. Issue identified
  2. Platform ops reviews evidence
  3. Adjustment made with documentation
  4. Both parties notified

Consequences
